This is a third article written by a friend of mine describing the methods he used to lose weight. I am very proud of him and hope his advice helps some of you reach your goals.
For most people, losing belly fat is a difficult and challenging, if not impossible, task. It does not have to be this way. Any weight you have gained can be lost fast if certain practices are observed. The basic rules are that you must follow are to change your dietary habits and living styles. Nothing affects the weight you gain and the size of your stomach more than the foods you eat. This problem compounds on itself if you do not exercise properly to burn the excess fat that resides under your belly.
If you really want to achieve the flat stomach you always wanted, you must be determined and dedicated. You must consistently follow all the advise I lay out below. If you do not totally avoid all foods that cause weight gain and do not engage in consistent exercise for the two week period ahead, you are not going to achieve your goal.
The following techniques are time tested and proven to show you how to flatten your stomach. If practiced consistently, you can lose a decent chunck of your belly fat within a period of two weeks. It will only be possible, though, if you are thorough and strict in only doing that which is allowed by these rules and avoiding entirely that which is prohibited by them.
1. Avoid junk and processed foods
One of the most effective ways to get a flat stomach fast is to avoid fast foods. I know these foods are delicious, but they have very little to no nutritional value. They satisfy your hunger, but they do little good for your health. If you love having lunch or snacks from fast food locations, you need to rid yourself of that behavior. Also, if you want to lose weight, you must avoid processed foods.
It is more time consuming, but it is safer and healthier to prepare your own low fat and healthy meals at home. While most junk foods are cooked using unhealthy fat and provide way more calories than your body needs, healthy foods cooked at home can be as low fat and low calorie as you desire. Another thing you should avoid are drinks that are high in sugar. What should you replace these with?
2. Drink a lot of water
Some people expect to learn some extraordinary secret when they search for information on quickly losing stomach fat. Surprisingly, the ways to get rid of your belly are very simple and straight forward. Drinking a lot of water is one of the most simple, but effective steps to take. However, it will not do everything you need by itself, and thus needs to be combined with the other approved practices. Drinking water helps increase your body’s metabolism, which burns more fat. It also helps improve the way your organs and tissues function. The classic rule to drink at least eight, 8-ounce glasses of water per day is a good rule to follow. To accomplish this, you should even drink a lot of water when you are not thirsty.
3. Avoid alcohol and other drinks
Alcohol, and some types of other fizzy or carbonated drinks, are made of ingredients that may reverse the gains you have made toward your goal of weight loss. You should avoid drinking any of these types of beverages. In place of alcohol and other unhealthy drinks, you should consider drinking juices made from natural fruits like mangos, apples, strawberries, and oranges. You can easily prepare these natural juice drinks at your house with a blender.
4. Eat a diet that is high in fiber
Dietary fiber helps your body lose fat as quickly as possible. Foods that are high in fiber include fruits, vegetables, bran, and wheat (among others). Fresh fruits and vegetables are the most recommended. The fiber you will gain by eating more of these foods will also help reduce your food cravings that may sometimes tempt / force you to overeat. Almost all fruits and vegetables are high in fiber, so choose a few that you like and start eating more of them. You should eat them as often as you can without getting sick of them. These foods will also help your body to detoxify itself and get rid of the free radicals that can do damage to you.
5. Eat smaller meals full of low-fat food
Even if the foods you eat are low in fat, if you eat them in very high quantities, they may end up providing your body with excessive amounts of calories that can turn into fat. I advise you to eat very healthy meals that are smaller than usual. You should only eat the amount of food that is sufficient to prevent you from feeling unnecessarily hungry.
Another thing to consider is that one pound of fat equals 3,500 calories. Your body should only require around 2,000 calories per day. If you consume an excessive amount of calories and / or fat, it will give your body more than it needs. These excesses will be stored in fat around your organs, in the veins, and under your skin (including under your stomach). To get the nutrition you require without consuming excess calories, you should eat foods that are high
in protein and low in fat.
Even if you follow the dietary guidelines I outlined above, you will also need to engage in other practices aimed at getting rid of the excess fat in your body. The most effective way to get rid of the excess fat that dietary changes alone did not manage to get rid of is to engage in exercise. Although the exercises you choose to do should be targeted mostly at your stomach, you should also ensure that you train your entire body. Once you get rid of the fat from the other parts of your body, your stomach will also reduce in size.
Outdoor exercises, such as walking up and down stairs, running, jogging, walking, swimming, and playing sports, are recommended. You should make them a part of your daily schedule. I advise you to leave your car behind and walk anywhere you can get to on foot, including work if possible. You should also take some time and play in a park with family and / or friends each weekend. The strain your body will experience and the sweat it will produce will make your muscles stronger while getting rid of your excess fat.
